This is a different shot from the Pencil Skirt photo shoot. I loved the original photo, but this version shows off my shoes, which I also love, a little bit better (thus the title). I think the black and white, and including the window, gives it a different feel.
This is from the same photo shoot that brought Dark Room, in my old leaky attic. (Worry not, I’ve re-roofed my house since this was taken – no longer leaky!) But where Dark Room seemed sinister, my pose and the light here reminds me more of a barn at sunrise or something like that.

The original of this was called Untitled Monochrome, but in looking at the original images, I kind of like the warmth of the color version. The faded bruise is a little more evident, the whole thing seems softer, somehow, in color.
Honestly, I can’t believe I am doing this. I’ve always admired those who participated in February Photo Fest and I’ve always passed, thinking there was no way I’d ever be organized enough to accomplish it.
