Out of ideas this weekend, I tried a last-minute photo on the couch using a favorite old blanket as a backdrop. The sun coming through the window turned out to be kind of interesting as well. I’m not sure if the shadows and the stripes work together or compete. I do like the color. I tried it in black and white but even though that called out the similarities in the shadow stripes and the yarn stripes, there’s something about the color version (hmm, color, perhaps?) that I prefer.

This is lovely! It makes me think of basking on a blanket in the hot summer sunshine…and that makes me happy! Especially when it’s been so long since any basking was done! Xx

See, the photographer in me wants to turn that blanket the other way to run across the image, with your arms….. No idea how that would look but when I look at the image it is the first thing I would want to try out.

Ah, I didn’t even think of that. But you’re right, that could be a cool effect. I might have to try using this blanket again in the future.

I know it’s already been said, but this is really lovely. The happy colors in the blanket, the sunshine falling over you just right. You look beautiful and relaxed and happy, which makes it all the lovelier.
Thanks Malin! I was pretty relaxed. It was a long weekend and the sun was so warm, it felt good just to sit for a while.
