This is for the Sinful Sunday prompt of outtakes.
It was an outtake from the double exposure prompt of a few months ago. I think I’d had an idea to be pinching my own nipple, but ended up doing this instead.
The reason it is an outtake is that it’s a profile shot of my body that includes my belly. Almost any shot from this angle ends up on the cutting room floor. Even in this one that I’m sharing, it’s heavily shadowed.
The last couple of years, I’ve fallen a little out of love with my body and I’m working to recapture and grow that feeling. (It was a tentative romance to begin with, to be honest). Sinful Sunday has always helped, and my sporadic posting can be linked, in part, to how I’m feeling about my buddy at the time.
Anyway, I thought the edit and the out-of-context have gesture added a certain amount of mist and magic.

This is a fabulous image!
This is an absolutely capturing picture. I love the different shadows, your hand, and your belly! I can relate to always be mindful about the belly, being a big girl can be hard to accept at times. But I think you look absolutely stunning in this picture!
Oh, thank you!
I keep on scrolling back to the image, because it really is stunning! I love the edit, love the mystery in it. It’s just gorgeous!

Thanks Rebel!!
Love this. It is mysterious and magical!
You know I’m a fan of your photos and this one is no exception. I too can identify with the love-hate relationship with the belly, but this image is gorgeous, it really does look like you are casting a spell.

You are so lovely, Modesty. Your Sinful Sunday posts always bring a smile. Thank you!
I have very similar feelings about my tummy so I totally understand where you are coming from on this. I think you look amazing though

This is just magical and would make a fantastic story prompt. I feel very similar about my belly, and am trying to address that, I think you look beautiful and your hands are so grateful, such a wonderful idea! x
This is right in my bailiwick – im enamoured with this shot and no one would ever suspect it was an out take. beautiful work – you look gorgeous.
Thanks Violet!
You look beautiful and I’m glad you shared this. It’s also a really lovely wistful image!
Thanks!
I hear you. I tend to be very choosy about my body images…mainly to avoid showing the wrong angle of my belly. It’s so easy to see beauty in others and so easy to deny that to ourselves.
So true!
I think tummy’s are our nemesis aren’t they, I hate mine.
I do love this image, we tried something along these lines once but I just kept making shadow rabbits on the wall…oops!
Ha! I’m not even sure how to make a rabbit ?
The blue lights certainly give it a magician on stage kind of look. I dig it!
