I was completely thrilled to learn that my Sinful Sunday photo for June 1st was picked for Molly’s weekly round-up. I discovered Sinful Sunday, and all of the beautiful people who participate, just a few months ago. I was sort of blown away. It was like I’d been introduced to a secret society and couldn’t believe I was allowed to join. (If only I’d have the courage to participate). It was totally refreshing and unexpected. I fell in love and did ultimately take the plunge.
I come from a long line of women who are insecure about how they look. However, I was starting to find that attitude really tiresome. Posting photos of myself here and sharing the space with so many other people who were also baring their souls and their bodies has done more for my confidence and body image than pretty much anything else I’ve done. This revelation came along at the same time that I was deciding sex didn’t need to be some sort of contract for deed on my future and could just be a thing I enjoy. (The sex and the photos definitely encouraged each other). I’m aware that I’m probably not going to brush aside 38 years of conditioning in just a few months, but it certainly feels possible. It feels good.
So, thanks to everyone who participates in Sinful Sunday and to Molly for hosting such a great community. And because she suggested it in her comments on the weekly round-up post, I’ve included versions of my June 1st photo, rotated. Starting with the original.
I love this post! I think that’s so awesome that Sinful Sunday has helped your confidence and body image! Sinful Sunday has definitely helped me as well in many ways…perhaps I shall write about it at some point. 🙂

PS- Have you thought about adding a social media plugin that allows people to easily share your posts? I wanted to tweet this (and still can) but I usually just use the tweet button at the bottom of a post, and others might find it helpful as well. 🙂

Thanks so much Penny! Sinful Sunday is incredible and powerful, I think. And no, I hadn’t even thought of adding social media links. (I’m a total blogging/twitter newbie) I’ll get them up tonight.
