When I was in London last March for Eroticon, I spent the week as the delighted guest of Exposing 40 and getting up to delicious fun with many of the friends I’ve made here.
I also spent a good amount of time exploring London’s offerings on my own. One of my favorite solo afternoons was spent at the Tate Modern seeing the Radical Eye exhibit on the Modernist photography from Elton John’s collection. It was gorgeous and moving and inspiring.
So inspiring, that all these months later, I’ve come up with this. It was so fun to play around with the absurdity of these lashes. Considering placement, snapping the photo quick before the adhesive detached, trying to get the flashlight at the right angle, admonishing myself for giggling and dislodging the lashes, which only brought on more giggles. Anyway, it’s an homage of a sort and a toe-dip into surrealism.

Now this is fun! And erotic as well, one the texture to the photo.
And, thank you, Maria, for the link to the Radical Eye. When I lived in Chicago I spent many an afternoon at the Art Institute sitting looking at paintings. My favorite was ‘Nighthawks’.

Very creative & clever. Playful and fun. Love the BNW filter and the lighting. Well done.

Beautifully photographed. What a fantastic image. I visited a wonderful Salvador Dali exhibition earlier in the year in Ceret, France and your picture would not have looked out of place amongst his works.

That’s a lovely compliment, thank you!

I just can’t stop looking at this. It’s so spectacular and really wouldn’t be out of place in a gallery. Your whole trip what so much fun, and you were particularly inspiring the evening after that gallery! Xx

You really are a creative photographer. This is such a brilliant idea and you have captured a really brilliant shot, it is odd and quirky and I agree with Exp40 would not look at all out of place in an art gallery

That is an awesome image! I loved the fun and creativity that went into taking it, as well as the finished product. Did you manage to get any “blooper” pics?
MariaSibylla
Ha, sadly, no.

First post – ooh baby! I think this is so utterly brilliant that there should be a monthly prompt of surrealism. The darkness and shadows are perfect!
