As I mentioned in last week’s Sinful Sunday, my 40th Birthday was Wednesday. Exposing 40 posted a beautiful Sinful Sunday image yesterday in honor of that milestone. In it, she shared a brief history of Maria Merian, the woman whose name I use as my pseudonym.
Ms. Merian was an extraordinary seventeenth century entomologist who first documented the life-cycle of the butterfly. While I haven’t previously talked about her in particular on my blog, if you are a reader, you’ll likely recognize the theme of metamorphosis.
Exposing 40’s insects were wonderful. Here are a couple of my own in reply.

Gorgeous image! When I res about Maria and about metamorphosis I assumed that your blog was a nod to that, but I didn’t want to be presumptions and write that. Enjoy the rest of your celebrations…I am glad they are extended…I strung my 40th out for a full month (with Christmas inbetween) so I applaud you. The only way to do it! Xxx
