With my sincerest apologies to Stephen King.
I’ve been thinking about this ever since I read the monthly prompt would be fluids, and it would be October, which is Halloween (yay!) I ordered the crown and the fake blood and the tinsel prom backdrop (and a plastic tarp, of course) from Amazon and imagined this amazing photo of me in a crown totally doused in blood like Sissy Spacek in the movie, except I’d be nude, and also would not actually be Sissy Spacek.
However, when it came to the actual dousing, all the warning signs about not getting it in your eyes and possible staining of skin started to freak me out so I ended up being much more tentative with the blood than the photo required.
Alas, the photos were not good. The blood drips were too few, the telekenetic rage that was meant to show in my searing gaze looked more like I had upset stomach or was listening to a particularly boring coworker. Basicslly, they all looked silly.
Except I liked this test shot.
But there was no blood in it. No fluids. No prompt.
Then I remembered last week mentioning that I wanted to try Snapseed’s double exposure function. So, I did. I took the photo I liked and layered over the blood from another photo, enlarging it so it looks like it’s meant to, albeit in a more stylized way than I originally intended.
I think it worked!
